We reimagined
We believed in the potential of our tools for reimagining beyond our own translocal community. We were curious to see what might be unlocked by adapting and applying some of the our Reimagine Peacebuilding approaches with our own communities.
We believed
We see the need and potential for our own communities to step out of the day to day and to collectively reimagine the systems they are part of. In our communities, we can sometimes be called on to prioritise the immediate work before us. We wanted to test whether it was possible to give the same urgency to reimagining.
We experimented
This first phase of experimentation focussed on documenting, analysing and reflecting on the practices we have established in the first 3 to 4 years of our community. We sought to identify the tools that we have developed as a community that could be most useful in engaging the different communities we work with.
We observed
The tension between what happens in real life and what is possible in space dedicated to reimagining soon became very apparent. During the period of this experiment, we really struggled to step away from the need and urgency of solving emerging real issues for people living in conflict affected areas.
We learned
The 6 month duration of this experiment was too short to fully test our hypotheses. However this initial period of exploration gave us confidence in the potential to adapt these approach to work in our own communities.
We will
We are committed to continuing to explore how we imbed tools and processes we have developed in Reimagine Peacebuilding more widely.
