I joined this community because I work with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Mexico, focusing on peacebuilding. My work takes me to places deeply affected by violence. I would say I joined to bring hope to organizations striving for change in the face of growing adversity.
My journey with Reimagine has been both extraordinary and deeply polarizing. On one hand, we strive to reimagine peace, envisioning something transformative and hopeful. Yet, being so deeply embedded in the system often means we unintentionally replicate the very structures we aim to change. It’s a constant struggle to break free from these patterns.
Amid this tension, I’ve learned that creativity, joy, and emotions are not just complementary but essential. They breathe life into the trifecta of outcomes, processes, and relationships. Finding ways to infuse these elements into our work has been a profound challenge, but also a deeply rewarding one. It’s a reminder that true peace isn’t just a result—it’s a way of being, a journey where our humanity shines through every step.
