Reimagine Peacebuilding is a precious space where I’m allowed to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. I find companionship and solidarity in the Community and can walk with others to reimagine one step at a time.
Reimagine Peacebuilding is a space I once dared dream of. It was born of a longing for more imagination in how our systems of international solidarity could work differently. It came from the desire for spaces where the right people could gather to reimagine the future (not just the usual people). And to move the focus from incremental change to transformative change.
Thanks to the work of so many over the last 5 years, and the inspiration of so many more, the Community is now living and breathing - with the beauty of its journey, relationships and big ambitions. As a Co-Host and Community Catalyst, I’ve learned to sit with the ache of hard questions and the tenderness of holding space where we can truly live by the values we want to see in the world. I continue to deeply inspired by the daily work and vision of the Community’s members and the potential of the collective. It has been an honour to walk alongside this community, and now, as a member, to join in the work of collective imagination and liberation.
It feels clearer than ever that just how deeply entangled all of our futures. Coming together across borders and boundaries and together co-creating the futures the we want is essential. Moving forward, I want to sustain my work in supporting others in their capacity to be in relationship in ways that help us grapple with our present day challenges and sense alternative ways of being and doing. I draw my energy and hope from the connections I make across borders and across differences. I see Reimagine as an important space for ongoing inspiration and experimentation for my work as a facilitator and systems coach and specifically would like to explore how how can trauma & healing work help us overcome polarisation, dance with complexity and work towards futures that support us to be in right relationship with each other and our planet.
