Collective imagination is my activism, it's solidarity in action, it's how we inhabit the future. To imagine is to interrogate the patterns of the system and poetically shift away from them. It's to gather in community to co-create alternative worlds and experiment with different ways of being.

Since 2020, I have supported Reimagine Peace bringing together participatory design and futures thinking, with a decolonial approach. I have contributed to this space by interrogating patterns of the system and catalysing imagination for plurality, holding space for the community to come together. My work is grounded by my lived experience and positionality. I am a mix of generations of colonizers and colonized, and while I feel some of the impact of systemic challenges in my stomach, I also benefit from the system that creates them.

I joined Reimagine Peacebuilding, as a participatory designer, for the initial series of 12 online workshops, where local peacebuilders envisioned the future of peacebuilding. I co-designed and facilitated the workshops and produced the final outputs. This included the booklet “Reimagine Peacebuilding – A Collection of Ideas That Depict Imagined Plural Futures for Peace and Peacebuilding” and the “Reimagine Peacebuilding – A Conversation Starter Card Game.” My focus was to ensure the voices of peacebuilders and activists were present as co-creators throughout the process.

Grateful for the invitation from Elise Ford, I partnered with her to continue accompanying peacebuilders and activists in their journey to reimagine. Together, we co-founded Reimagine Peace: a translocal space powered by community, action, and learning. As we designed, launched, held the space, and transferred it's leadership, my role was co-host and imagination catalyst.

As co-hosts we facilitated the community to challenge business as usual practices and explore what and how they wanted to do in this space; co-created a space conducive to collective learning and unlearning; and explored alternative models for collaboration across lived experience leaders. As an Imagination Catalyst I facilitated collective creativity honouring all ways of sensing, knowing and expressing; integrated prototyping as a practice for experimentation; and designed collaboration processes that welcomed diverse perspectives and plural ideas.

We acknowledge the power we held as co-founders of the space and as part of our effort to reimagine the system, we committed to transfer leadership of the space to the community by 2025.

Grateful for the invitation from the Reimagine Peace Community, April 2025, I joined as a fellow community member. I'm proud to continue the journey as part of this inspiring group of people whom I trust have the power to reimagine in action.
